Happy Wednesday! Man, my weeks just fly by and I can’t believe it is already Wednesday and tomorrow will mark halfway through my maternity leave. How depressing. Anyways, lets chat about this recipe because I used a product from one of my ultimate favorite paleo companies, Primal Kitchen. I have talked about this company in other blog posts and I am going to talk about them again because a lot of their products are staples in my household.
For starters, I use their collagen powder on a daily basis. I love the Vanilla Coconut flavor to have in my coffee each morning (check out my Vanilla Coconut Collagen Morning Coffee recipe here). The Chocolate Coconut is great for smoothies and the Unflavored Collagen Peptides are great to add to anything you don’t want to change the taste of because it has no flavor. I will sometimes add it to my coffee when I just want black coffee or to protein balls. I have a handful of recipes that use collagen. Use the search tool and search collagen and you will see them all there!
Primal Kitchen not only is known for their collagen powder. They have a ton of other amazing products too. My other go to products of theirs are the dressings and marinades. You can’t really go wrong with any of the flavors, but the Green Goddess is my fav. They also have collagen protein bars, avocado oil and avocado oil spray (which I love and use daily), and mayo (big staple in my house). Many of their products are keto and whole30 compliant too! This company keeps getting better and better by continuously putting out more products. They just recently released a line of protein bars. I currently have the Peanut Butter protein bars and they are absolutely perfect for on the go snacks. I love to have them on hand for when I am out of the house running errands. They just melt in my mouth and hold me over until I can get home for a meal. They also have an Almond Spice and Coconut Lime flavors I can’t wait to try!
Another new product of theirs that I have recently had the pleasure of trying is their ketchup. I have tried other paleo ketchups and even tried making my own before. Hands down, the Primal Kitchen Ketchup is by far the closest tasting ketchup to the real deal I have ever tried before. I will be using it for burgers, sweet potato fries and definitely on my Russet Potato Wedges. I even used it in this recipe for the Plum BBQ Sauce and it turned out perfectly. I can’t wait to use the ketchup in even more recipes!
If any of these products caught your eye and you’d like to grab some for yourself, skip the lines and markups at the grocery store and order online! Not only will you be able to shop from the comfort of your own home, but you will also save because using promo code kissbybrooke will save you 10% on your order! I truly stand behind Primal Kitchen for their quality of products. Many other brands of similar products are full of hidden sugar, fillers and ingredients I can’t pronounce. You won’t get any of that with these products! Keep your pantry and fridge stocked with the best of the best and start using Primal Kitchen products!
If you are anything like me chicken is on your weekly menu each week if not multiple times a week. Chicken is an easy meal to prepare, but can get boring after awhile so why not change it up with a homemade BBQ sauce! This sauce can be applied to baked or grilled chicken and would even be a great dipping sauce.
- 3-4 boneless skinless chicken breast
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 4 plums, pits removed
- ¼ cup Primal Kitchen Ketchup
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ⅛ tsp red pepper flakes
- First, make the plum BBQ sauce by adding the plums, ketchup, honey, apple cider vinegar, and seasoning to a food processor. Pulse until smooth. Set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and add a cast iron skillet on the stove over medium high heat. Add the ghee to the cast iron skillet.
- Once the skillet is hot add the chicken breast and cook for 5-6 minutes. Flip the breast and cook for another 5-6 minutes. Leaving the breast face down, generously brush some of the plum BBQ on each breast. Place the cast iron skillet in the oven for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, flip the breast and again generously brush more of the plum BBQ sauce on each breast. Cook for an additional 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and enjoy!
