French Toast Smoothie

I could eat French toast, waffles or pancakes just about every day but ain’t nobody got time for that. So instead, I thought to myself, what is something I eat often, enjoy and takes little time to make? Ding ding ding, smoothies of course! I have a smoothie almost every morning because it is quick, I can make it at work and it includes the complete macronutrients and micronutrients I need to start my day. I am a creature of habit and tend to have the same smoothie  concoction routinely, but it is time to change it up! This French Toast Smoothie is a high runner for one of my best smoothie creations to date!

For years I swore off meal replacement shakes. I eat real whole foods, I don’t need some shake to replace my meals I would say. Let’s rewind just over two years ago. I was eating strict paleo, working out 5-6 days a week, wasn’t seeing much progress and had low energy even though I was eating whole nutrient dense meals. Recipe type: Smoothie
Serves: 1
Ingredients
  • 1 packet Dairy-free Vanilla Chia IsaLean Shake or 2 scoops Vanilla IsaLean Shake
  • 1 cup nut milk of choice (I used cashew)
  • ½ banana
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp maple extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • handful of ice
  • Optional: enjoy life chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Add all ingredients except the chocolate chips to a high powered blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to a glass or mason jar, top with chocolate chips or other topping of choice and enjoy!
