Vanilla Chia and Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

September 12, 2016 by BrookeWeiss

The other day on the radio there was a trivia question about the most obnoxious photos posted on social media and the top two were couples cuddling and images that showcase or “show off” ones fit body. This actually really peeved me. Why is it obnoxious to see photos of a couple that is obviously really happy in their relationship and love their significant other? Why is it obnoxious to see the hard work someone put in to reach their health and fitness goals? Is it maybe because the people who find these images obnoxious isn’t in a happy relationship or isn’t willing to put in the work to get their ideal body and envy those that are?

Instead of being a crabby internet troll, maybe try being supportive and happy for those people. Use those photos as motivation to put the potato chips away and move a little bit. In today’s society, for some sad reason, it is much easier to put people down than it is to raise them up and applaud them for their accomplishments. Don’t be that part of society. Be the part of society that doesn’t judge, shame or bash others for their happiness and achievements. I get it, social media is chalked full of images showcasing the highlights of people’s lives. I do it. But you guys, that is what social media is for! It is an outlet to show the fun things you have been up to and what you are working towards. It is a platform to cheer others on and positively connect with new and old friends. If you don’t understand that or only go on facebook to judge what others are doing, then do yourself and all of us a favor and delete your account. You are only hurting yourself and setting yourself up for misery and failure.

I will admit to the fact that it is pretty dang easy to judge people for what they are doing or not doing. As I get older and am surrounding myself with like minded people, I have realized how wrong it is to judge. I don’t know what is going on in these people’s lives or what they have or are going through and I am not entitled to guess or make judgments. I have decided to make a solid effort to be more positive and more uplifting to others. And guess what, when you are truly genuine to others about their feelings, it is pretty easy to be positive and treat people with the respect they deserve.

Moving away from the heaviness of the day, lets chit chat about this smoothie. If you have stepped one foot out your front door or graced social media lately you know pumpkin flavored everything is flooding the world right now. Call me “basic” but I’m jumping in too! I absolutely love fall and will take any chance I can get to fall up my recipes. Smoothies are always so crazy to make and so convenient and you can pack them full of protein and healthy fats and get in a ton of essential vitamins and minerals. Be sure to make this smoothie ASAP, you won’t regret it!
