Eating For The Season You Are In

I was honored once again to be asked to submit an article to the local Chippewa Valley 5ive for Women magazine! My very first article for them was published in their June/July 2017 issue and I talked about how to stay fit-inspired through the summer. Since summer just kicked off, it would be a great read if you are looking to stay fitness inspired this summer. Check it out here on page 28!  Then, in their October/November 2018 issue I touched on the missing link to fat loss for the busy mom. If you haven’t checked that article out yet, you can read it here on page 24.

In their most recent June/July 2019 issue I have an article titled, “Eating For The Season You Are In.” I talk about how our body’s cravings and nutrient needs change as the season changes and offer helpful lifestyle tips to stay on track with your nutritional goals this summer.

There is nothing better than an ice-cold beverage, ripe, juicy berries, or vegetables fresh out of the garden on a hot summer day. As the seasons change, so do out eating habits and cravings. Some of this change is due to summer day traditions like kicking the summer off with a cookout Memorial Day weekend, taking the kids out for ice cream on a balmy day, or sitting on a patio drinking a cold beverage. The extended daylight and warmer days also cause our bodies to crave lighter, fresher meals because we want to stay cool.
