Energy Green Collagen Smoothie

March 13, 2019 by BrookeWeiss

Are you a Saint Patrick’s Day celebrator? Do you drink all the green things and eat all the corned beef? The only green drink getting anywhere near my mouth is this smoothie and I don’t even know what corned beef is. So, it’s safe to say I will not be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this weekend. What I will be celebrating, though, is both of my grandma’s birthdays with an epic brunch. How cute is it that both of my grandma’s birthdays are on St. Patty’s Day? So cute.

The weather has finally made a turn for the best and daylight savings was last weekend. Sunnier warmer days and daylight passed 5pm gives me all the happy feels. It gets me excited for hot summer days, farmers markets, weekends at the lake and all the fresh food! Our bodies are crazy smart. As the season change we will crave different foods. Summer is warm and we are generally more active so our bodies will crave fresh, raw and lighter foods. I have been wanting all the fresh foods lately. Vegetables, salads, smoothies and fresh fruit has been calling my name lately. I can’t wait to be able to take Avri berry picking, to the farmer’s market and enjoy all the fresh fruits and vegetables too!

Let’s chat this smoothie bowl. Unlike the popular McDonald’s Shamrock Shake, this smoothie is packed full of energy fueling real food. This would be great for a pre or post work snack or mid-day pick me up. The healthy fats will give you energy throughout the day along with keeping you nice and satisfied until your next meal. The collagen will give you a healthy dose of protein that will aide in muscle building and recovery, work towards giving you flawless skin and long locks, help your joints feel better and overall keep you healthy. I love the Primal Kitchen Vanilla Coconut Collagen Fuel and you can even save 10 percent on your online order for any of their products using promo code kissbybrooke. This smoothie could also be made with collagen peptides or any protein powder you prefer. Save yourself the 550 calories and 82 grams of sugar the Shamrock Shake will give you and have this nutrient dense healthy and tasty smoothie bowl instead!
