Chocolate Coconut Collagen Fuel Hot Coco

November 27, 2018 by BrookeWeiss

Brrr brr brr! It isn’t even December yet and we are having January like weather. No bueno. I love winter, but I love the winters with a ton of snow and mild temperatures so I can actually get out and about and do something like snowshoe or snowboard. No one has time for that when it’s in the single digits.

I am a freezy cat to begin with so add in the single digit temps and I am cold all hours of the day. I have been drinking tea like it is going out of style just to stay warm throughout the day. I needed to change up my tea game and I already had my coffee for the day so the next logical thing is hot coco! amirght? And this protein packed hot coco drink did.not.disappoint. It is rich, chocolately, sweet and the perfect midday or evening treat.

You can use any chocolate protein powder, but why use “any” protein powder when you could be using collagen? If you haven’t seen my other collagen recipes and why I use collagen daily here is a quick run down of its benefits!

Collagen is a protein found in our bodies that plays a huge role in our make up of connective tissue, bone mass and skin. It is the most abundant protein we have in our bodies. As we age, our bodies start to produce less and less collagen and supplementing with it becomes more vital. A few signs of a lack of collagen in your body are things like wrinkles, saggy skin, joint stiffness and weaker bones. Collagen also helps with:

  • growing thicker hair and stronger nails
  • healthy weight loss by keeping you fuller longer
  • improving gut health
  • hiding cellulite (can I get an amen?)
  • repairing muscle and preventing injury
  • stabilizing blood sugar levels
  • improving thyroid health
  • preventing and reverses arthritis

So again, why would you use any old protein powder when you could be using collagen? I have been using Primal Kitchen Collagen Fuel and Peptides for a year now. I used it my entire pregnancy and didn’t get any stretch marks. My hair seems fuller, my nails are stronger and actually grow and I know I am only improving my longevity and health each day I take it.

Primal Kitchen has three different flavors to choose from. I use all three in different ways. I like to use the Vanilla Coconut Fuel and Chocolate Coconut Fuel in oatmeal, yogurt, protein balls, coffee and smoothie, and now hot coco. And when I feel like just plain black coffee or don’t want to change the flavor of my food, I use the Unflavored Collagen Peptides. If you are ready to give a go, head here and use promo code kissbybrooke at checkout to save 10 percent on your order! Make sure and order the Chocolate Coconut Fuel so you can make this hot coco, these Brownie Protein Balls and this Coffee and Collagen Protein Breakfast Smoothie!
