Collagen Peptides and Turmeric Tonic Latte + Special Discount

April 11, 2018 by BrookeWeiss

Today is a little bit different on the blog as I am bring you a brand new (delicious and simple) recipe plus a special discount on some amazing products with Further Food! Over the last six months or so I have been adding collagen and collagen peptides into my daily routine. My daily staple has been to add a scoop to my morning cup of coffee and I have recently started making smoothies with it and now branching out to even more ways to use it like in this Collagen Peptides and  Turmeric Tonic Latte I am sharing today. What is collagen anyways and why have I been consistently taking it daily?

Collagen is a protein found in our bodies that plays a huge role in our make up of connective tissue, bone mass and skin. It is the most abundant protein we have in our bodies. As we age, our bodies start to produce less and less collagen and supplementing with it becomes more vital. A few signs of a lack of collagen in your body are things like wrinkles, saggy skin, joint stiffness and weaker bones. I might be becoming a mom soon, but I am way to young to be getting wrinkles and saggy skin. Give me all the collagen please!

Along with the above mentioned health benefits of collagen, it also helps:

  • grow thicker hair and stronger nails
  • aids in healthy weight loss by keeping you fuller longer
  • improves gut heatlh
  • hides cellulite (can I get an amen?)
  • repairs muscle and prevents injury
  • stabilizes blood sugar levels
  • improves thyroid health
  • prevents and reverses arthritis

To learn even more about collagen and how it can help you, check out the Everything You Need To Know About Collagen on Further Food’s website.

So then what is this turmeric tonic in this recipe and why am I using it? When I followed a strict paleo diet I heard a lot about turmeric and it’s health benefits. I even shared this green Turmeric Smoothie on the blog almost three years ago! I never become consistent with turmeric, but after being introduce to this product by an amazing company, Further Food, I am using it more and more for the many benefits it offers. Turmeric has been clinically proven to lower inflammation, can reduce joint pain with its antioxidant herb properties, maintains healthy blood flow and even prevent cancer. This turmeric tonic stands out from the traditional turmeric herb you may find on your grocery store shelf because it also contains adaptogenic herbs like schisandra berry, boswellia along with other powerful and healing spices like ginger, cardamon, cinnamon, cloves and black pepper. To get a quick breakdown of the health benefits of these herbs and spices that make up this turmeric tonic make sure and check out Further Food’s website here.

Collagen and products like the turmeric tonic are becoming widespread and popular due to their powerful health benefits and I even use a couple different collagen products from different companies. Further Food products do stand out from some of the other companies and I support and use their products because:

  • They only source the highest quality, cleanest ingredients; all of their products are 100% food-based with no fillers, additives, or sweeteners unlike some other brands that use sweeteners or non food-based additives.
  • All their products are expert-approved and inspired by their community of naturopathic doctors, nutritionists, RDs, and master herbalist.
  • They get tons of feedback that their Collagen Protein is so tasteless in comparison to other brands on the market.
  • Their products are super affordable and available in several variants (i.e. 1-month, 3-month, on-the-go stick packs).

When looking into Further Food not only did their quality products stand out to me, their brand and beliefs stood out to me too. I love to support brands that align with my values and beliefs on nutrition and I have found that through Further Food. They are completely women-owned and operated and they are mission driven and donate a portion of their proceeds back to their community’s nonprofits and healthy eating educational initiatives. They have been so helpful and kind to me and even want to offer you a special discount on their products! At checkout, use the promo code kissbybrooke to receive 5% off your entire purchase.
